Ecoprint Workshop Sydney
Heirloom Fibrecraft textile artist Kim Shipton is running a fun, two-day introductory workshop on the Art of dyeing with Native Plants as part of the Manly Art Festival 2017.
The workshop will run on Saturday 9th September 12-5pm and Sunday 10th September 12-4pm at the Newport Community Centre, 11-15 The Boulevarde Newport 2106.
Join Kim in exploring local native plants and their chemistry in the dye bath. Participants will design two textile pieces for dyeing ; one project from home for dyeing and a scarf will also be supplied for dyeing during the workshop.
This is a light hearted but seriously creative environment to gain insight into the Eucalypt dye process and the art of Eco-printing that will send you home inspired by Nature’s wonder and two art pieces to enjoy.
Includes a local walk to source foliage which will be added to further materials supplied by the artist. Day two will be unraveling the textile dye bundles and additional craft time for a group hand stitched piece to be donated to charity.
Workshop Price is $250 per person (sorry no children under 10 years of age).
